Moorhead High School’s award-winning speech team hosts “Shut Up and Say Something,” the annual speech open house, at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8 in the Moorhead High auditorium, 2300 4th Ave. S., Moorhead. The title for this year’s open house is based on a poem that the speech team members will share at the event. Admission is $6 at the door and includes a dessert reception.
According to Speech Coach Rebecca Meyer-Larson the open house is “an opportunity to show the community our Spud speakers, show the school our powerful words, and show our team our commitment to each other.”
This year’s open house will showcase the entire speech team as team members each share a portion of their pieces.
Moorhead High’s speech team has won 18 consecutive section championships. Last year a record 11 students qualified for the National Forensics League speech tournament.
The Spuds speakers will be competing in Sections on April 11.
