As part of a series of school visits across Minnesota, Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius will host a roundtable on early education and Governor Dayton’s budget on March 27 in Moorhead. The Commissioner will join Moorhead Superintendent Lynne Kovash, teachers and administrators to talk about the current state of early education in Moorhead.
In his budget, Governor Mark Dayton proposes an $84 million investment in early education, ensuring more youth have access to educational opportunities before beginning first grade. This investment includes $44 million to expand early education scholarships, providing 10,000 more students with access to high quality child care and preschool. Governor Dayton has also proposed $40 million to help Minnesota school districts provide optional all-day kindergarten to students free of charge.
