Her family’s support for education and the influence of several teachers in high school and college drew Karen Taylor to the field. Taylor, an eighth-grade language arts teacher at Horizon Middle School, has been named the 2013 Moorhead Teacher of the Year.
The teachers who left the strongest impression helped Taylor to realize a love for and the power of reading and writing.
“I decided to become an English teacher to share that with others,” she said.
